aftercare 101 - TINY TATTOOS
-
After your Tattoo is complete, I will be placing a second skin on it and sending you home with Vitamin A & D cream. Keep the second skin on for 72 hours and keep it dry. If you need to change the second skin thats fine. But ensure its on for the first 3 days for best results.
-
On Day 4, You will remove the second skin under warm running water and then you will need to gently wash the tattoo area with any unscented antibacterial soap. Pat dry with paper towel (do NOT use a towel or any type of fabric). Once dry, wait a couple of minutes and then use the Vitamin A & D cream provided and apply.
Repeat this morning & night for Days 4 - 6
-
As the tattoo heals, the top layer of skin may flake, peel or scab. Its important to leave these scabs intact; do NOT pick at it.
In my personal experience, after day 5 just leave the tattoo alone. Let it dry heal, scab and exposed to air. No need for ointments or moisturizers, we want scabbing to occur so that the skin repairs itself.
The visible signs of healing should be resolved by around 3 weeks post-appointment. And if a touch up is needed, you can do so a minimum of 6 weeks after your first appointment. Please note, your tattoo may remain 'dull" in appearance for around 1.5 months as the skin regenerates.
